Stratocaster Body in Golden Burl

This beautiful book matched burl Stratocaster body style was left in it’s natural color.  Extensive grain filling was required to level the top. The alder back was a little plain to go with the front and also had a very different type grain. 

To unify the piece, a thin custom mixed golden brown burst was applied to the edges of the body and just wrapped the edge of the front.  The burst was applied well into the middle of the back. This treatment enhanced the body by incorporating the back into the burl front.

Finally, the Nitrocellulose Lacquer was applied followed by wet sanding and buffing.
