BUCKEYE BURL STRATOCASTER
What a beautiful piece of Buckeye Burl the top of this Stratocaster guitar body has. The green in the middle is completely natural. The outside edge has a wood grain with a dark grey flame pattern. From the very beginning this was going to be a show stopper.
What goes together better than green and blue? We dyed the grey grain a dark navy blue. The flame grain really popped when the dye hit it. It is hard to believe that one piece of wood could have such a variation of wood grain patterns.

The back of the stratocaster is mahogany. This red tint does not really add anything to the front. A matching mahogany cover was a nice extra. A narrow band of mahogany was left natural to serve as a binding between the front and back. The sides of the guitar body were finished in navy blue to almost a solid color. The blue was brought around to the back and faded into the center of the guitar body. Now the mahogany does not show from the front and the back is more unified with the front.
