RED WHITE & BLUE

    So,  you have this really pretty piece of Bird’s Eye Maple.  Problem,  it’s too narrow.  Well, how about adding to the width with something else?  Something like Redheart.  That works.  Nice contrast.

    Now the back.  Swamp Ash works.  Usually does.  But, just a clear coat sounds pretty understated for the top.  How about flag blue with dark grain filler?  Now that works. 

    Now it looks like a plan, not just using left over scrap.  A really pretty top framed by some equally pretty wood and a back that pops when you see it.
